Planning a DIY wedding gives you the freedom to choose the details that feel right for you. But setting everything up at the venue can take time and add pressure on the day.
JK Weddings & Events can help with the decoration setup, whether you’re bringing your own decorations, hiring items from us, or combining both. We’ll talk through your plans beforehand and agree what needs to be set up, where it will go and when we can access the venue.
Help with your DIY wedding setup
You may have collected decorations over time, made personal touches yourself or sourced items from different places. We can help bring those details together and set them out according to an agreed layout.
Our setup service can include:
- Setting out your own wedding decorations and personal items
- Installing décor hired from JK Weddings & Events
- Combining your decorations with items hired from us
- Setting up agreed areas such as the ceremony space, top table, guest tables or welcome area
The service is planned around the items you want us to handle and the arrangements at your venue.
Planning before the wedding
Before your wedding, we’ll discuss your decoration plans, the items to be set up and the venue’s requirements. Together, we can agree a layout so there’s a clear plan for where each decoration belongs.
We’ll also confirm the venue access arrangements and agreed setup timings. Please check with your venue about when suppliers can enter and whether there are any rules we need to follow. We’ll use that information when planning the setup.
Organising your own decorations
To make setup easier, we’ll ask you to organise and label the items you want us to place. Labels can identify the table, room or area where each item belongs, and items can be grouped together by location.
This helps us follow the agreed layout and makes it easier to keep track of the decorations you’ve supplied. We’ll discuss any special instructions with you beforehand.
Add décor hire if you need it
If you still need a few finishing touches, you can hire selected décor from JK Weddings & Events and combine it with your own items. We can discuss suitable options as part of your plans, including table décor, centrepieces, arches, backdrops, signage and other available decorations.
You can arrange setup using your own items, décor hired from us, or a mixture of both.
Packing away after the wedding
Packing away and collecting decorations after the wedding can be included if required, but it is quoted separately from the setup service. We’ll discuss the venue’s collection arrangements and provide a separate quotation for any agreed packing away.

JK Weddings & Events is based in Rowley Regis and provides wedding décor services across Birmingham and the West Midlands. We can also discuss your venue if it is outside the local area.
You’re welcome to visit our wedding and event showroom in Rowley Regis by appointment. It’s a chance to talk through your plans and view some of the décor available to hire.
Prices and booking
Every wedding is different, so prices are provided by individual quotation. Your quotation will be based on the setup required, the venue and its access arrangements, the items involved and any optional décor hire or separately quoted packing away.
To book, a 25% booking fee is due when you confirm. The remaining balance is due 14 days before the wedding.

Can you set up decorations that we have bought ourselves?
Yes. We can discuss setting up your own decorations according to an agreed layout. We’ll ask you to organise and label the items so it’s clear where they should go.
Can we combine our decorations with items hired from you?
Yes. You can use your own decorations, hire items from JK Weddings & Events, or combine the two. We’ll include any agreed décor hire in your individual quotation.

What if the venue has limited setup access?
We’ll confirm the venue’s access arrangements and agreed setup timings as part of the planning. Please check access times and supplier rules with your venue before the setup is arranged.
Is packing away included in the setup price?
No. Packing away is optional and quoted separately. We can discuss the venue’s collection arrangements and price this if you need it.
How much does the service cost?
Prices are by individual quotation, based on your requirements, venue and setup arrangements. A 25% booking fee is due to confirm your booking, with the balance due 14 days before the wedding.
